Greencore Group

I was impressed by the professionalism and expertise of Guardian Electrical in conducting mains
analysis for several Greencore sites that I oversee. Guardian Electrical is a leader in electrical safety
and has been providing reliable fixed-wire testing for more than 30 Greencore sites across the UK.

When I needed to assess the spare capacity and efficiency of the electrical systems at my sites, I
contacted Matt Gilmore, one of Guardian’s Technical Contract Managers. He was very helpful and
designed a customised program of works for me. Mains analysis was not a common service that
Guardian offered, but they were willing to take on the challenge and deliver high-quality results.

Matt performed the analysis himself over a week, using advanced equipment and techniques. He
measured the power factor, harmonic distortion and balancing of phases, which are all important
factors for optimising the electrical system. He then compiled detailed reports with the data he
collected and uploaded them to my online account on TraQ-it. This made it easy for me to access all
my electrical records anytime and anywhere, especially when I had to visit multiple sites in a day.

I am very grateful to Matt and Guardian Electrical for their excellent service and support. They went
above and beyond my expectations and provided me with valuable information that will help me
improve the electrical performance and safety at my sites.

I highly recommend Guardian Electrical for any electrical testing needs, as they have proven to be trustworthy and competent in their field.

Thank you

Firstly, I would just like to say how well your engineers have worked this week.

Their conduct on site has been exemplary throughout the testing process. They have worked thoroughly yet swiftly through all of the boards, I asked at the start of the week that they give a daily update and that any questions they have to make a note and go through at the end of each day rather than us having to work with them all day and they have worked very well with us to this effect.

Very pleased with how this week has gone, especially at a time when the process could have been very difficult. When do you expect that I will receive the full report as I would like to review before we start planning in the inspection schedule moving forward and so that any recommendations can be rectified.

Kind regards,

CBRE

I just wanted to take the opportunity to write and express my thanks to you and your colleagues for the fantastic support you have been providing me since late last year in regard to Fixed Wire Testing and Inspection at my clients site at Granta Park in Cambridge.

With your expertise, our clients portfolio is soon to be back in to compliance having been vastly overdue their Fixed Wire Testing and Inspection, something CBRE inherited when commencing the contract with them.

I have been massively impressed with the engagement with the Guardian team. Your attendance at site meetings has assured my client no end and your understanding of mitigating disruption to our clients business has been appreciated.

Time for science is key at a pharmaceutical facility and the testing so far has worked around this and has included specific working patterns/times to suit.

All of my team have commented on how professional guardian have been thus far, from yourself and the guardian management team, to the inspectors on site. Our client has also commented on how well the testing has been.

It has also been extremely pleasing to take advantage of a reduced occupancy on site due to COVID-19 and complete more testing!

I have uploaded feedback to this effect on our companies MySupplier portal, hopefully you will be able to see that soon. I have highly recommended Guardian for all to see when selecting a FWT specialist.

Thanks again for the brilliant support

Yours sincerely

Bristol Airport

Guardian Electrical Compliance have been conducting the Fixed Wire Inspection and Testing programme onsite at Bristol Airport since 2015. Guardian have shown a considerable level of professionalism that has continued throughout our programmed work. Meetings were undertaken by their project manager before work commenced to accurately put together a cost and programme specific for our site. Our close working relationship alongside this level of planning and organisation, ensures that our testing program is efficient and causes minimal disruption to the day to day workings of the airport.

Due to the nature of our 24/7 aviation site, we require excellent communication skills with our supplier, especially when planning electrical testing and any downtime. The project manager, inspectors and office staff are all attentive and communicate effectively, with the inspectors raising issues daily whenever necessary.

Guardian Electrical Compliance always ensure that testing is altered to suit our airport environment. Adapting to changes with onsite access, they continue working to a set programme of works agreed. Inspectors actively work around building issues and any other contactors on site, while raising EDN’s, allowing immediate action to ensure we remain compliant.

If we do not maintain a safe place of work, and establish and monitor safe working practices, alongside potential fines, equipment failure can have huge financial consequence. We aim to avoid down time and as a result loss of customer confidence and loyalty. Timely response to these issues is imperative and Guardian assist with this by providing real time reporting.

A main feature of the Guardian service is their interactive website, TraQ-it. This system allows staff at Bristol Airport to access reports and network drawings for specific areas of the airport, with the ability to update any information as and when needed. We are comfortable in the knowledge that we remain compliant and have all information we require at the click of a button.

Guardian Electrical Compliance provide good service from start to finish and I would recommend this business to other airports and organisations in the aviation and aerospace sector.

Yours Sincerely,
Mark Vernon

Manchester United

After obtaining several quotations for Fixed Wire Inspection & Testing, Guardian Electrical were chosen to undertake an area of works within Old Trafford.

A site start date was agreed and Guardian’s Inspectors were tota lly understanding of our working procedures. The Inspectors worked hand in hand with the Club’s on-site electricians who completed the repair of defects as they were identified. Each defect was explained and a specific ‘danger notification’ was issued for the Code 1 and 2 observations. The flexibility of the Guardian team enabled us to be proactive in completing any remedial actions.

Guardian quickly issued their reports through an on-line system, TraQit. This site clearly listed each Distribution Board with an appropriate location and individual reference. I found the circuit information stored on the site incredibly detailed too. The process of searching for a particular board is very simple and it is clear to see the potential of TraQit for storing multiple site records.

Following on from a successful first visit by Guardian Inspectors, I have been pleased to arrange dates for testing at another site within the Manchester United’s facilities during a time that is most suitable for us. Again, I look forward to being able to access t he reports on t he same website allowing me to view the electrical ‘status’ of t he tested locations as a whole.

I have been impressed with the Guardian package as a whole, ie, delivery and competence of Guardian’s representatives on site, customer service, their innovative website solution and the technical & legislative support on offer.

British Steel

We have been using Guardian for 10 years on a fully integrated steelworks programme to ensure compliance with periodic testing and inspections. Guardian’s professional and flexible approach fits perfectly with our demanding manufacturing schedules.

As the programme has developed, more of our sites have taken ownership and engaged with the process and we now have a rolling contract in place with Guardian to undertake annual inspections on all our sites in the UK.

One of the key reasons was the TraQit system, which enables monitoring of our multi-site activities, enabling trending and easy identification of areas to focus on to ensure progress is sustained.

Tata Steel

Guardian and Tata Steel have been working together on numerous electrical compliance projects since 2015. Following a successful initial meeting, we were able to make a fully informed decision regarding the most suitable route to compliance. Due to limited existing records on site, the Guardian First Stage Strategy was selected to help gain a better understanding of the electrical infrastructure on site and to ensure Tata were on the road to compliance.

Following on from completion of the first stage strategy, we continued with an annual inspection and testing programme working closely with Guardian to ensure completion of the works during site shutdowns. Extensive planning and communication guarantee that we minimise risk of any downtime which would undoubtedly have a detrimental effect on our business.

Once 100% inspection and testing over three years had been completed, we continued with an effective monitoring programme. Working closely with the team at Guardian ensures that any changes made to the electrical installation onsite are forwarded to the TraQ-it department and Tata always maintain a fully reconciled installation report. None of this would be possible without TraQ-it, Guardian’s unique interactive website. This system closes out the process of electrical inspections and provides a record of any actions taken to address the issues.

Tata utilise TraQ-it demonstrations provided by Guardian so that we can access and update all reports and drawings at any time. The ability to quickly identify and resolve issues onsite provides peace of mind and confidence in our electrical compliance status. Despite our long-standing relationship with Guardian, we still lean on them for additional training. We regularly utilise their training sessions to upskill members of our team to use the portal and assist others onsite.

The Guardian staff are very friendly, professional and always willing to help – from Emily in the office looking after the business continuity to Dan and Nick, the Electrical inspectors that come and perform the testing programme. They all work hand in hand to make sure that the work is seamlessly completed with minimal disruption to our business.

Guardian conduct their business to the highest standards, and I would happily recommend their services to any other organisation.

Neil Wynne

Savills

Guardian Electrical Compliance have several years of experience in the retail sector and a strong working relationship with many shopping centres across the UK. Guardian have provided inspection and testing for lntu shopping centres across the UK for the past three years, some of which we now manage. Although Savills’ working relationship with Guardian Electrical Compliance is in its infancy, we have been extremely impressed with how they have completed works on site to date.

After various discussions, we decided that a First Stage Strategy developed by Guardian would be the most fitting option for us due to the limited records and knowledge of the number and locations of distribution boards around site. The first stage allowed us to spread our testing programme over five years and in the initial year obtain an accurate asset register and network drawings tailored to our site to show we are taking the steps needed towards compliance. From this, we received a precise quotation for further testing going forward. Due to the nature of our sites, it was imperative that most works were completed at night and Guardian Electrical Compliance were happy to accommodate.

Following the success of our test programme carried out by the diligent engineers at Guardian, we decided to enlist the company to carry out any remedial works required. We received a quotation within a few days of previous works, and they arrived at the site a little over a month later. A major benefit to completing our testing and remedial works under one roof is the joined-up approach made possible by using TraQit, the Guardian interactive website. All high-quality reports and network drawing are stored on the easy-to-use system, allowing us to find and update information for all areas of each site whenever required.

Our experience with Guardian, from initial teams meeting through to testing and after sales support has been second to none. As and when buildings we manage are ready for testing, Guardian will continue to be our first port of call. Guardian Electrical Compliance have worked from the start to provide us with a high-quality service, and I will continue to recommend them to any other FM companies, shopping centres, or retail organisations around the UK.

Kind regards,

NHS

Following an on-site meeting in 2015, Guardian Electrical Compliance were chosen to conduct our fixed wire inspection and testing programme across the 40+ property portfolio.
The Estate comprises of 2x large Mental Health inpatient Hospital sites (Kendray/Fieldhead) and various NHS community properties across the south west region. From preliminary discussions through to the work being undertaken, it was clear that Guardian had a vast knowledge and experience of testing in the healthcare sector. It was agreed that the best way forward would be to have full network drawings of the site completed, and these were done to a high standard, accompanied by a full thermographic survey. The inspectors were very professional in their manner, causing no disruption around the hospital and adhering to our strict site guidelines/regulations of the control of contractors policy and Health Technical Memorandum 06 – Electrical Safety.
Following the successful first visit and a second meeting with Guardian’s attentive Operations Team, it was decided that they would complete the full testing programme over a 3-year cycle. This met the extensive legal requirements of the hospital while allowing the associated cost to be managed and spread. It also allowed me to take stock of the safety status of the whole site and arrange a plan to suit the urgency of each individual area and minimise disruption.
The final aspect of service was the collation of the test results on my own, bespoke website known as TraQit. As opposed to mounds of paper work on my desk, I am now able to access all relevant records from my desk printing off and amending records as appropriate.

My experience of using Guardian is that they are professional, diligent and are at the forefront of the Inspection and Testing industry. I would recommend them to any establishment in the healthcare sector.

Tarmac

Thank you, Guardian, for all your support which you continued to give me. When I first started to use Guardian and TraQit system for Tarmac A CRH Company, it was a new area which I had never been involved in.
I would like to say my special thanks and extend my appreciation to Laurie Islip, Gemma Bailey & Louis Carnall who have always been on the ball when I have queried or needed help with downloading, accessing our site reports, how to view reports and what we should look out for and do as a business. Your knowledge on TRAQ-IT system, Inspection reports and assisting with all kind of queries I have had is exceptional. The professionalism and communication I receive from you is brilliant and have always resolved my queries quickly and efficiently.
Your support has been outstanding, and my understanding has increased with the likes of those above on what Guardian does and how our sites can better themselves in the fixed electrical area and most of all how to be compliant as a business.
Keep up the good work and your level of service. It has been appreciated by me, very much.

Greencore

Guardian Electrical supply electrical inspection, testing and compliance related services to Greencore Bow and I have the pleasure in writing a testimonial with reference to this working relationship.
Guardian have a comprehensive office based technical team who are always polite and prompt in dealing with any requests that we pass their way. All the electricians that have attended site have also been polite and prompt, and they all, without exception have catered to the sites needs dynamically and professionally.
The TraQ-it online portal is the perfect interface between Guardian and Greencore and enables us to have access to certifications, schematics, policies, test results and suchlike at the touch of a button.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to any other site within our group or the wider industrial community.

University of York

Guardian Electrical have recently completed the fixed wire inspection and testing of the Biology Department at the University of York. The buildings serve all our teaching and research activities; from offices, and flexible learning spaces through to electron microscopy and laser laboratories, and horticulture glasshouses and plant growth rooms.

I will admit I wasn’t keen on the enormity of the project when it was first presented, knowing the complexity of scheduling shutdowns. However, hospitals manage to organise works, so I was sure we could work with our Estates Department and Guardian. Working with Louis Carnall, using his knowledge of similar projects, we were able to make a comprehensive and realistic schedule, notifying Biology staff and students in with plenty of warning to minimise disruption.

During the testing the two Guardian teams worked to schedule, respecting the working environments and were helpful when issues arose.

Louis and his team gave us confidence with their skills and knowledge to go ahead with a hugely complex project that put experimental materials, experiments and scientific equipment at risk, a job well done, thank you.
