The HSE, or the Health and Safety Executive, is an independent body that regulates health and safety at work in Great Britain. They have the power to inspect, investigate and enforce the law to prevent work-related harm.
Why should you care about the HSE?
🔎They can spot hazards – such as exposed wires or faulty equipment.
🔎They can check competence – the skill and knowledge to avoid danger.
🔎They can review maintenance and records – are your documents organised and accessible?
🔎They can verify access protocols.
According to Health and Safety legislation the duty holder has the responsibility towards their employees to provide information, instruction, training, and supervision. The duty holder has a responsibility to ensure electrical safety and complete compliance in the workplace to help prevent incidents.
