👨🏻🔧 Technical Tuesday – Panel Risk Assessments and The Compliance Gap👨🏻🔧
Guardian offers Panel Risk Assessments since 2021 to help you avoid hazards, near misses or accidents on-site when working on an electrical panel.
A Panel Risk Assessment evaluates the risks of working within electrical control panels and other enclosures while they are energized for fault finding, adjusting and electrical safety testing. The assessment considers the electrical equipment, its usage, and its environment.
A Panel Risk Assessment helps you comply with EAWR Reg 4(1) & (2) which requires ‘all systems, shall at all times be of such construction and maintained to prevent danger.’ Additionally, they further help you comply with Regulation 6, stating that ‘electrical equipment which may reasonably foreseeably be exposed to mechanical damage, environmental exposure, must be of such construction or as necessary protected as to prevent danger from such exposure.
Guardian labels your panels with warning labels to show the status of each panel and control the risk of incidents:

Every Panel Risk Assessment includes reports, which are available on your TraQ-it website and through QR Codes. An asset register and compliance chart show the overall condition of your panels on-site.
