🔧👀Fridays Find– Precarious Plumbing 👀🔧
Here’s what a member of our team came across while out on a site in Scotland. As can be seen in the image below, recent plumbing work had opted for the easy route and installed their pipework alongside some single insulated cabling. 💧
In the possible scenario of a burst or leaking pipe, the damage to the electrical equipment would be severe as well as causing risk to regulation 527.2.4 which states that “the seal and wiring system shall be protected from dripping water which may travel along the wiring system, or which may otherwise collect around the seal”.
Since the pipework was in such proximity to the cable wiring as well as not being adequately protected, especially since the trunking lid had been removed for the plumbing work, this enhanced the risk even more. ⚡
Without the inspection work of our eagled-eye team, these types of dangers would have gone unnoticed. Our aim is prevent this at all costs.
