Guardian Electrical Compliance have several years of experience in the retail sector and a strong working relationship with many shopping centres across the UK. Guardian have provided inspection and testing for lntu shopping centres across the UK for the past three years, some of which we now manage. Although Savills’ working relationship with Guardian Electrical Compliance is in its infancy, we have been extremely impressed with how they have completed works on site to date.
After various discussions, we decided that a First Stage Strategy developed by Guardian would be the most fitting option for us due to the limited records and knowledge of the number and locations of distribution boards around site. The first stage allowed us to spread our testing programme over five years and in the initial year obtain an accurate asset register and network drawings tailored to our site to show we are taking the steps needed towards compliance. From this, we received a precise quotation for further testing going forward. Due to the nature of our sites, it was imperative that most works were completed at night and Guardian Electrical Compliance were happy to accommodate.
Following the success of our test programme carried out by the diligent engineers at Guardian, we decided to enlist the company to carry out any remedial works required. We received a quotation within a few days of previous works, and they arrived at the site a little over a month later. A major benefit to completing our testing and remedial works under one roof is the joined-up approach made possible by using TraQit, the Guardian interactive website. All high-quality reports and network drawing are stored on the easy-to-use system, allowing us to find and update information for all areas of each site whenever required.
Our experience with Guardian, from initial teams meeting through to testing and after sales support has been second to none. As and when buildings we manage are ready for testing, Guardian will continue to be our first port of call. Guardian Electrical Compliance have worked from the start to provide us with a high-quality service, and I will continue to recommend them to any other FM companies, shopping centres, or retail organisations around the UK.
