Canterbury Christ Church University

Canterbury Christ Church University recently appointed Guardian Electrical Solutions Ltd to undertake a First Stage Electrical Safety Review, with respect to the development of comprehensive electrical network drawings, the new 17th Edition visual inspections report and a thermographic survey, on buildings located on its main Canterbury campus.

The decision to use Guardian was based on their indepth knowledge of The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and their interactive website TraQit for the storage and presentation of the results.

All works were carried out efficiently and within the agreed timescales, causing minimal disruption to building users or the institution’s business. The site team were very professional in the way they undertook the survey works. Reports and drawings were of an excellent standard and were delivered in the agreed timescale. Guardian have also been very receptive to client feedback and made a number of minor changes requested in the way the information was presented through TraQit. The reporting and hosting system developed and utilised by Guardian is in my opinion, far superior to any system currently available for electrical record keeping. TraQit allows full document traceability, graphical displays of outstanding items, full editing rights and peace of mind that as an institution we are complying with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. Our records should now remain current and accessible at all times, which is of real benefit in managing a University Campus.

The Guardian team also provide prompt, excellent technical and legislative support as and when required and on the strength of their performance to date the contract has been extended to cover remaining University buildings.

I would highly recommend Guardian for delivery of electrical safety for an organisation’s premises.
